Dimphy Padmos
Hi! I am a Surface Pattern Designer, based in the bustling city of Amsterdam. I was born in 1980, in the south of The Netherlands and grew up in a family where crayons, paint and markers were always within reach. I spend many hours on making the best shapes and colour combinations on paper, fabric or any other material I could find in the house. This leaded to signing up for Artschool, and falling in love with designing patterns.
Today my patterns are mainly inspired by nature. The different shapes, lines and colours in flora and fauna are an inexhaustible source for me to play with. When I design I work from the heart, and my mission is to make people smile when they look at my handcrafted patterns.
Every design starts with a blank canvas...
Inspiration, a good tune in my ears and an open mind to whatever comes out of my pencil. That’s what makes the magic flow. But of course there is more to it than just that.
